The Psychology Club organized an important event within the scope of the PASS Project (Participatory Symposium Addressing Secondary Trauma After Earthquake), carried out in collaboration with Hasan Kalyoncu University, to draw attention to the secondary trauma experienced by young volunteers and professionals who worked in the earthquake zone. The project, which has been ongoing for over a year, was evaluated through a comprehensive workshop held on December 3rd at Darüşşifa IPAM.
During the event, the dynamics of working in the field after a disaster were discussed, and essential skills were shared with psychology students. Clinical Psychologist Mehmed Seyda Tepedelen and Clinical Psychologist Zeynep Züleyha Kablama-Yardım, who actively served in the earthquake-affected areas, shared their field experiences. The experts also provided important insights into the approaches mental health professionals should adopt in similar situations in the future.
