It is time for your new weekly check-in – virtually! Islamic Civilization Club is pleased to invite you to its Halaqa Series of the fall semester. The Arabic word ‘halaqah’ means a ring and it is used to refer to a circle of Islamic knowledge. Historically, the transmission of knowledge usually took place in the masajid, a practice that can be traced back to the Prophet ﷺ. This tradition was preserved by the Companions (RA) and their successors and scholars throughout the history of Islam up until the present day.

Our Virtual Halaqa Series are intended to promote a heightened sense of common identity and individual spirituality. We will be collaborating with different Islamic seminaries to host speakers who will talk about spirituality, self-development, relevant and contemporary topics, as well as issues related to the various roles and responsibilities of Muslims in today’s knotted up world.

Our first guest is Ustadh Usman Qamar who is founding director of Wijhah Initiative  - an online community of humans who help individuals to find direction (wijhah) in their lives and reconnect with it. The title of the talk he will be delivering is "Looking Back in Order to Move Forward". There will be time for a Q&A session at the end.

We look forward to welcoming you next week and the weeks to follow. May Allah give you all the ability to join us and reward you immensely for attempting to join and inviting your friends to our humble online gathering.
