IHU “A Century Worth” Student Workshop III
Healthy Living and an Independent Campus
The “IHU A Century Worth Student Workshops,” inspired by our deep-rooted civilizational vision and rich cultural heritage, aim—within the framework of the “Century of Türkiye” perspective—to enable university students to evaluate current social issues from a multidimensional perspective, to establish an intellectual platform, and, this year, to develop concrete solution proposals within the scope of Yeşilay’s “Year of Independence” theme.
The third workshop organized in this context aims, within the framework of the theme “Healthy Living and an Independent Campus,” to raise awareness about addictions, sedentary lifestyles, and social connectedness/belonging; to develop preventive approaches; and to generate solution-oriented recommendations.
The event prioritizes encouraging students to stay away from types of addiction such as technology, social media, and gambling; strengthening their levels of social connectedness and belonging; and raising awareness about active lifestyle habits.
The workshop will be conducted with an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together students from different universities, faculties, departments, and class levels, as well as those who volunteer in various NGOs. In the program, which will include a total of 100 university students, solution proposals will be developed through a “brainstorming” method based on predetermined questions. A report prepared in line with the outcomes will be presented by the students to the relevant institutions.
Through a raffle among participants, 5 individuals will be awarded smartwatches, and all participants will receive a “Certificate of Participation.” Additionally, shuttle services will be provided for transportation to and from designated locations.
The workshop will be organized under the coordination of the IHU Department of Culture, Arts and Sports, in cooperation with the IHU Guidance and Psychological Counseling Research and Application Center (REDAM), Yeşilay, and the Türkiye Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV).
