2026–2027 Academic Year - IHU Dormitory Applications

Dear Students,

The dormitories for female and male students located on the Ibn Haldun University campus are operated by our founding foundation, the Turkey Youth and Education Services Foundation (TÜRGEV), and provide services to students.

Detailed information regarding the dormitory application and housing processes is provided below.

DORMITORY FEATURES AND AMENITIES

Our dormitories can accommodate a total of 735 students, including 353 female and 382 male students. Many amenities have been provided for students in the rooms and throughout the dormitories. The dorm rooms accommodate three people each; however, there are seven two-person rooms in the women’s dormitory only.

All rooms are equipped with a toilet, bathroom, and mini-refrigerator. Inside the dormitory buildings, there are dedicated study areas, relaxation areas, spaces for social and cultural activities, and a library, as well as aerobics studios for female students and fitness centers for male students, along with hobby kitchens. An outdoor turf field, an outdoor basketball court, and an outdoor tennis court, all located right next to the dormitory buildings, are also available for student use.

Various workshop activities can be organized in the dormitories based on students’ requests, and social and cultural events are held.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

• Active Student Status Requirement: To be eligible for dormitory housing, students must be enrolled in classes and maintain active student status each semester.
• No Outstanding Dormitory Debt: Housing requests from students with outstanding debts from a previous dormitory stay or summer dormitory stay will not be considered.
• Students with Dormitory Scholarships: Students with dormitory scholarships must register in the TÜRGEV system and submit an application to be eligible for dormitory housing.
• Students with Previous Registrations: Students who have stayed in the dormitory in previous semesters and have an existing registration must update their records and reapply through the system. Students must submit their applications at turgev.org using the same email address they used for their initial application.

DORMITORY STAY DATES

Note: For Preparatory School students who have been approved for dormitory housing, their stay will begin on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Therefore, they must complete the application, interview, and registration processes by that date.

ONLINE APPLICATION, ONLINE INTERVIEW, AND ONLINE REGISTRATION DATES

FOOD INFORMATION

• “Breakfast” and “Dinner” are included in the dormitory accommodation fee.
• To be eligible for meals at the cafeteria, you must go to the dormitory administration office with your student ID card to register.
• Meals are served at the cafeteria located on the -1st floor of the “Student Center.”

CRITERIA FOR PRIORITY DORMITORY ACCOMMODATION

Dormitory assignments, which are reassigned before the start of each academic year, are made according to the priority order listed below.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Application Address: Applications for dormitories will be submitted online via the turgev.org website using an IHU institutional student email account.

Registration Process for New Students: Students who have not previously stayed in TÜRGEV dormitories must create an institutional student email account with the “ihü” extension through IHU Student Affairs and IHU Information Technology Services.

They must then create an account on the turgev.org website by setting a username and password. After completing registration, once their educational information is filled out in the profile section, İHÜ dormitories will appear in the system, and they will be able to submit an application. Educational information must be complete in order to select a dormitory.

Registration Update for Current Students: Students who have previously stayed in a dormitory and have an existing registration must update their registration and reapply. Students must submit their application on turgev.org using the same email address they used for their initial application.

APPLICATION EVALUATION AND NOTIFICATION PROCESSES

• Online Interview: Applicant students will undergo a preliminary evaluation by the dormitory administration via an online interview conducted through Zoom and will be assessed in accordance with the dormitory accommodation and housing criteria.
• Priority Ranking and List Creation: Following the preliminary evaluation of the online interviews conducted by the dormitory directors, main and waitlist rosters will be created based on priority ranking within the framework of the established “Priority Criteria for Dormitory Accommodation.”
• Notification of Application Results: Application results will be communicated to students via SMS by TÜRGEV.

REGISTRATION PROCESSES

• Final Registration: For final registration, the required documents must be signed within the specified timeframe and uploaded to the TÜRGEV system in their entirety.
• Waitlist Registration: For waitlist registration, once the main list of registrations is complete, if there are vacancies in the dormitory quota, students on the waitlist will be notified in order by the dormitory administration, and they must complete the registration process by the specified date, just as they would during the main registration process.

FEES AND PAYMENT METHOD

For information regarding tuition and payment procedures, please contact the relevant dormitory administration offices.

Opening a Bank Account: International students who have been granted housing eligibility and students with temporary citizenship must open a bank account through Vakıfbank, while Turkish citizens must open an account through Albaraka Türk Participation Bank and set up an installment plan through the OTS (School Installment System).

Lump-Sum Payment: Those wishing to make a lump-sum payment may do so to the account of the “Turkey Youth and Education Services Foundation” Economic Enterprise at Albaraka Türk Participation Bank, IBAN: TR85 0020 3000 1542 6025 0000 40. A 5% discount applies to upfront payments of the dormitory fee.

Installment Payment: Those wishing to pay in installments must open an account in their own name at Albaraka Participation Bank for the purpose of paying the student’s fees and sign an “Automatic Collection Agreement” with the bank.

Sibling Discount: You can obtain detailed information about the sibling discount from the dormitory administration.

Deposit Fee: The deposit fee is determined by the dormitory. It must be deposited during registration into the account of the “Turkey Youth and Education Services Foundation” Economic Enterprise at Albaraka Türk Participation Bank, IBAN: TR58 0020 3000 1542 6025 0000 41. The deposit fee also applies to students receiving dormitory scholarships. If a student graduates or wishes to leave the dormitory at the end of the academic year, the deposit fee will be refunded to them provided they have not caused any damage to the dormitory’s fixed assets.

GSB FOOD AND SHELTER ASSISTANCE

Students who meet the criteria set by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and are eligible to live in dormitories receive the GSB Food and Housing Assistance.

One of the requirements for receiving the GSB Food and Housing Assistance is that the student must not have exceeded the standard duration of study at the higher education institution where they are enrolled.

Students who exceed this period are classified as “Repeat-Year Students.” Students who apply for dormitory housing and have “Repeat-Year Student” status must verify their status through the GSB via the dormitory administration during the registration process.

Students must submit the relevant document regarding this matter to the dormitory administration, along with a written request provided by the dormitory administration. The dormitory administrations, in turn, submit the relevant document to SKS.

TÖMER (Center for Turkish Language Teaching, Application, and Research) students are not eligible for GSB Food and Housing Assistance.

The amount and conditions of GSB assistance are determined by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. For detailed information, please review the “GSB Food and Housing Assistance Regulations” and follow announcements on the relevant website. You can communicate with GSB through the respective dormitory administrations.

IHU DORMITORY SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP

A Dormitory Support Scholarship is provided to students who meet the criteria set by the Ibn Haldun University Board of Trustees and are eligible to reside in the IHU Women’s and IHU Men’s Student Dormitories at the Başakşehir Campus.
