Ibn Haldun University Dormitory Applications 2024- 2025

The male and female student dormitories within the Ibn Haldun University complex are operated by our founding foundation, the Turkish Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV), and provide services to students.

DORMITORY FEATURES AND FACILITIES
A total of 736 students, 354 girls and 382 boys, can stay in our dormitories. Many comforts have been considered for students in the rooms and in our dormitories in general. Dormitory rooms are for 3 persons, only 7 rooms in the girls' dormitory are for 2 persons. All rooms are en-suite and have a mini fridge. In addition to private study areas, recreation areas, social-cultural activity areas and a library, there are also aerobics rooms for girls and fitness centers for boys, and hobby kitchens inside the dormitory buildings. An outdoor carpet field, an outdoor basketball court and an outdoor tennis court are also available for students' use right next to the dormitory buildings.

Various workshops can also be organized in the dormitories in line with students' requests, and social and cultural activities are organized.

Housing Start Date: September 7, 2024
Dormitory Accommodation End Date: June 30, 2025

Note: The accommodation process for Prep School students who are eligible to stay in the dormitory will be started based on the academic calendar of the Prep School.

PRIORITY DORMITORY ACCOMMODATION CRITERIA
Dormitory placements are made before each academic year according to the following priority ranking.

1 Dormitory scholarship students 
2 Non-Istanbul students entering in 2024-2025 (Districts within Istanbul that may be problematic in terms of transportation are considered to be outside Istanbul).
3 International students entering in 2024-2025
4 International students entered before 2024-2025
5 Non-Istanbul students who entered before 2024-2025  (Districts within Istanbul that may be problematic in terms of transportation are considered to be outside Istanbul).
6 Students entering Istanbul in 2024-2025
7 Students entering Istanbul before 2024-2025


ONLINE APPLICATION, ONLINE INTERVIEW AND ONLINE REGISTRATION DATES

APPLICATION CRITERIA
Active Student Requirement:  In order to benefit from dormitory accommodation, the student must be an active student enrolled in courses for each semester.
No Dormitory Debt: Accommodation requests of students who owe money for previous dormitory accommodation or summer semester dormitory accommodation will not be evaluated.
Dormitory Scholarship Students: Students with dormitory scholarships are required to register and apply to the TÜRGEV system in order to stay in the dormitory.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Application Address: Dormitory applications will be made online via www.turgev.org website with the institutional student e-mail address.
Registration Process for New Students: Students who have not previously stayed in TÜRGEV dormitories are required to create their registration by specifying a username and password via the www.turgev.org website. After registration, when the education information is completed in the profile section, IHU dormitories will appear in the system and application can be made. Education information must be completed in order to select a dormitory.
Registration Update for Current Students: Students who have stayed in the dormitory in the previous semesters and have a record must update their records and apply again.

APPLICATION EVALUATION- INFORMATION PROCESSES
Online Interview: Students who apply will be pre-evaluated by the dormitory management through online interview method via zoom.
Priority Ranking and List Creation: After the pre-evaluation of the online interviews by the dormitory managers, the primary and substitute lists will be created according to the priority ranking within the framework of the determined “Priority Dormitory Accommodation Criteria”.
Notification of Application Results: Application results will be notified to the student by TÜRGEV via SMS.

REGISTRATION PROCESS
Final Registration: For final registration, the required documents must be signed and uploaded to the TÜRGEV system completely within the specified date range.
Substitute Registration: For substitute registrations, if there is a vacancy in the dormitory quota after the completion of the primary list registrations, the students on the reserve list are informed by the dormitory management in turn, and the student must complete the registration process by the specified date as in the primary registration process.

FEE AND PAYMENT METHOD
Opening a Bank Account: International students and students with temporary citizenship who are entitled to accommodation must open a bank account through Vakıfbank and students with Turkish Citizenship must open a bank account through Albaraka Türk Participation Bank and make installments through OTS (School Installment System).

Advance Payment: Those who want to pay in advance, “Turkey Youth and Education Service Foundation Economic Enterprise 's Albaraka Türk Participation Bank TR85 0020 3000 1542 6025 0000 40 iban numbered account can pay in advance. A 5% discount is applied on the dormitory fee for advance payments.
Installment Payment: Those who want to pay in installments are required to open an account at Albaraka Participation Bank and sign an “Automatic Collection Agreement” with the bank in order to be used for the student's fee payment.

Deposit Fee: The deposit fee is determined by the dormitory. During the registration process, the “Turkish Youth and Education Service Foundation” It must be deposited to the Economic Enterprise's Albaraka Türk Participation Bank account with the iban number TR58 0020 3000 1542 6025 0000 41. The deposit fee also covers students with dormitory scholarship. In case the student graduates or wants to leave the dormitory at the end of the academic year, the deposit fee will be returned to him/her, provided that he/she has not damaged any fixtures.
