Space and Human: Post-Trauma Child and Environmental Interaction
In our “Space and Human: Post-Trauma Child and Environmental Interaction” event with our students, we discussed how the experiences of children in occupied Palestine shape their relationship with their environment, gaining an interactive learning and awareness opportunity.

On November 11, 2025, the Ibn Haldun University Psychology Club, in collaboration with the Jerusalem Community, organized the event “Space and Human: Post-Trauma Child and Environmental Interaction,” which addressed the experiences of children living in occupied Palestine and how these experiences relate to their environment. The event was conducted in an interactive format aimed not only at providing students with theoretical knowledge but also at fostering empathy and awareness.

Participants had the opportunity to examine the effects of trauma on children’s perception of space, social relationships, and psychosocial development, evaluating different perspectives. Supported by group work and discussion sessions, the event allowed students to share their observations, ask questions, and generate solution-oriented ideas.

The event supported psychology students in applying their academic knowledge in practice while also enhancing their social sensitivity. Participants gained an in-depth understanding of the challenges of being a child in occupied areas and the psychological impact of environmental factors. Thus, the event provided not only an academic discussion platform but also a learning experience that reinforced empathy and social responsibility.
