The final stage of the Ibn Haldun University Turkey Debating Championship was held on Saturday, April 20, at the Başakşehir campus of the University. Galatasaray High School was the winner of the tournament where 64 different high schools from 11 cities in 5 different regions of Turkey competed this year.
In the final stage, where the debate teams of 16 schools competed, pre-quarter, semi-final and final matches were played. Galatasaray High School, which defeated Ankara Gazi Anatolian High School in the final match, became the champion. Hakan Öğüt, also from Galatasaray High School, received the best speaker award. Izmir American High School Debate Team won the social media competition held within the scope of the tournament, while the winner of the article competition was Ezo Seren Aslan from Alkev Private Anatolian High School.
The team that came first in the championship was given a cup and half gold for each team member, a cup and half gold for the best speaker, and 1000 TL for the teams that came first in the social media and article competition.
