The Sezai Karakoç Commemoration Program, organized by Ibn Haldun University in collaboration with the Literature Club and the Islamic Civilizations Club, hosted a meaningful gathering on 16 November 2025. The program, attended by a large number of our university members, began with breakfast and introductions in the historic atmosphere of the Süleymaniye Madrasa.
As part of the event, an interview with Temel Hazıroğlu, a close friend of Sezai Karakoç, offered participants the unique opportunity to hear firsthand about Karakoç’s intellectual world, memories, and legacy. Conducted in a warm and in-depth conversational setting, the discussion enriched students’ and attendees’ perspectives on the Turkish intellectual tradition. The program continued with a visit to Karakoç’s grave in Şehzadebaşı, reinforcing the sense of respect and remembrance for the late poet and thinker.
This meaningful event not only renewed attention to Karakoç’s works but also provided participants with an inspiring journey through the world of thought and literature. The Literature Club and the Islamic Civilizations Club aim to continue supporting students’ cultural and intellectual development through similar activities.
