The Travel Club, with its “EAST: Let's Go To The GAP” program, held between January 31 and February 7, 2026, created one of the most special and meaningful events of the period. Beginning with the nostalgic atmosphere of train journeys, the Eastern Anatolia & Southeastern Anatolia trip offered a rich route encompassing cities distinguished by their history, culture, and civilization. As part of the program, Sivas, Bitlis, Van, Batman, Mardin, and Diyarbakır were visited, allowing participants to observe the region's architecture, historical fabric, and cultural diversity firsthand. Participating students reinforced the knowledge they gained in their classes through fieldwork, while having the opportunity to directly connect with the memory of these ancient cities. Enriched by culturally engaging stops, guide explanations, and group discussions, the trip contributed to both the academic and personal development of the students. “EAST: Let's Go To The GAP,” with its content that nurtured the spirit of discovery and its powerful route, has taken its place among the Travel Club's memorable programs.
