The Political Science Club, in its event titled “Facing the Modern State: How to Approach Modern State Politics as Muslims” held on December 2, 2025, examined the concept of the modern state and the position of Muslims within this structure. The program discussed key concepts such as the emergence of the modern state, sovereignty, legal order, citizenship, and political participation evaluated through both classical Islamic political thought and contemporary political theory.
Providing an interdisciplinary platform for students and researchers, the event contributed to participants’ ability to correctly interpret the nation-state structure and develop a critical perspective on current political practices. The program concluded by offering a conscious and principled perspective on current issues in Turkey and the Islamic world.
