Islamism, Nativism, and Fiqh: A Modern Accountability

Within this program carried out with our students, the transformation of Islamic thought in the modern era, the concept of nativeness, and contemporary interpretations of fiqh were discussed from different perspectives as part of the event titled “Islamism, Nativeness, and Fiqh: A Modern Re-evaluation.” Throughout the program, it was aimed to develop the critical thinking and analytical skills of the participants with evaluations made in the context of political theory and history of thought.
The Political Science Club organized the “Islamism, Nativeness, and Fiqh: A Modern Re-evaluation” event on 05.05.2026, where the transformation of Islamic thought in the modern era, the concept of nativeness, and contemporary interpretations of fiqh were evaluated from different perspectives, aiming to develop participants' analytical thinking and critical perspectives through discussions in the context of political theory and intellectual history.
