On April 18, 2025, the Literature Club hosted the event “On Reading and Living” at the Media and Event Center, featuring author Altay Cem Meriç as a guest. The event highlighted that reading is not just a habit but also a process of thinking, feeling, and reconstructing life.
Participants engaged in a heartfelt discussion centered around the question, “Do we change, do we transform as we read?” They explored how personal connections with books impact individual growth and the search for meaning. Drawing from his own experiences, Altay Cem Meriç delivered an inspiring talk about the place of literature in human life, the relationship between writing and reading, and processes of change and transformation.
The program offered participants intellectual depth by illuminating both reading awareness and the multilayered relationship between life and literature.
