Panel: Right to Believe and Right to Work: Women's Religious Freedom in the Workplace
Women's religious freedom in the workplace was discussed in the panel from legal, social, and individual perspectives.

Organized by Ibn Haldun University Faculty of Law and the Center for Civil Society Studies, in cooperation with TÜRGEV, KADEM, and TADÜK, the panel titled “Right to Believe and Right to Work: Women's Religious Freedom in the Workplace” was held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. The event explored women's religious freedom in professional settings through a multidimensional lens.

The opening speech was delivered by Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the KADEM Foundation. Following the opening, academics and experts from various countries shared legal practices and field experiences regarding religious freedom for women in working life.

The panel addressed how to strike a balance between freedom of belief and the right to work, the structural and social challenges faced by women expressing their religious identity in the workplace, and proposed solutions to overcome these obstacles. The discussions offered a layered perspective to participants, enriched with legal, social, and individual dimensions.
