Polonezköy Trip from Travel Club
Ibn Haldun University Travel Club made a trip to Polonezköy on Saturday, December 10.

Our University's Travel Club held the first event of the term with a trip to Polonezköy. In the event attended by approximately 30 students, Polonezköy, a district of Beykoz, was visited, accompanied by unique autumn landscapes. The first stop of the trip was Polonezköy Nature Park, which is the largest nature park in Istanbul. Our students, who completed the 5-kilometer hiking trail in the forest, visited the village campus, whose history dates back to 1842.

The participants, who had a good time at the Open Air Wood Carving Sculpture Exhibition and Polonezköy Glass Art Center, where beautiful examples of wood carving are exhibited, visited the Beekeeping Museum in the village square and received information from the authorities. The road continued with a visit to the Zofia Rizi Memorial House. Our students, who examined the historical records of the settlers from Poland, documents and pictures about Polish culture in the House of Remembrance, one of the oldest structures in the village, which now serves as a museum, left a memory from our University by writing their opinions in the Memorial House Guest Book. The trip ended after pleasant moments with dinner together and tea conversation by the stove.
