The 752nd Anniversary of Mevlana's Night of Power (Şeb-i Arûs) Commemoration Program, held on December 15, 2025, in collaboration with the Islamic Civilization Club and the Perspective and Photography Club, offered participants a special atmosphere that reminded them of Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi's worldview and spiritual legacy.
During the program, Prof. Dr. İrfan Gündüz delivered a speech addressing Mevlana's life, his understanding of Sufism, and his universal messages that resonate with the present day. Following the speech, the Acemaşiran Mevlevi Sema (whirling dervish) performance provided the audience with a profound spiritual experience, completing the evening's ambiance. Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to closely examine the aesthetic and spiritual aspects of the Mevlevi tradition. A raffle was held at the end of the program, with one participant winning a trip to Konya and three participants receiving a ney (Turkish flute) instrument, adding a special meaning to the evening. The Şeb-i Arûs program enhanced cultural and spiritual awareness within the university community, while also helping students connect with the Sufi tradition.
