Organized by the Law Club on April 15, 2025, the event titled Tea, Simit, and World Politics brought students together in a warm and informal setting to engage in discussions on international relations and current global affairs. The guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özkan, an international relations expert and academic.
Participants had the opportunity to hear about Prof. Özkan’s career journey, which spans from Latin America to the Middle East, including his experiences in think tanks and academia. Drawing on his field experience in diverse regions, he shared insightful perspectives on global power dynamics, international policymaking, and regional crises.
The gathering, accompanied by tea and simit, followed an interactive and conversational format rather than a formal lecture. Students actively participated by asking questions and gained greater awareness of global politics through exposure to different viewpoints.
