In the Shadow of Jasmine: Syria's Rich Cultural Heritage Met with Participants

Under the leadership of the Social Research and Thought Club (TADUK) and the Arabic Club, 10 clubs collaborated to organize the Syrian Culture Day event titled “In the Shadow of Jasmine” on 31 December 2024. The event brought together many cultural and artistic elements and offered an experience to the participants.

Literature Club, Information and Educational Technologies Club, Law Club, Jerusalem Studies Club, Archery and Equestrian Club, Perspective Photography Club, Political Science Club, History and Archaeology Club, and Turkish Culture and History Research Club supported the event.

The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran after welcoming the guests. After the opening speeches, Ahmet Yusuf Özdemir gave a speech on “Syrian Revolution”. The participants had the opportunity to get to know the cultural richness of the country closely with the Syrian folk dances and Yasmin Al Nayal's speech titled “Syria in Me, Me in Syria”.

In the foyer area, various stands were set up to showcase Syria's rich history and cultural heritage. Guests visited a photo exhibition of Syrian history and cultural graffiti. The event was further enlivened by food and beverage tables serving traditional delicacies, an oriental corner for relaxation, and a raffle table offering gifts to participants. An area where cultural materials and natural products were on sale was also appreciated by the visitors. The event was concluded with a short film screening, freedom-themed speeches, a kahoot contest with prizes, and Nader Al Kadi's joyful recital.
