Hz. Mevlana was commemorated at Ibn Haldun University on his 749th anniversary with the Seb-i Arus ceremony. Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ibn Haldun University Prof. Dr. İrfan Gündüz and Ibn Haldun University Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan joined.
Program started with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. İrfan Gündüz. In his speech, Gündüz talked about the concept of sema, its meaning and importance, and said, “Our culture is a semai culture, we hear with our ears and learn with what we hear. If a man is deaf, he is also mute.” He highlighted the importance of being heard.
Pointing out that Mevlana used a beautiful voice, beautiful instruments and beautiful words, İrfan Gündüz pointed out that he tried to whisper the truth in people's ears and said, "People get watered from their ears, and they are poisoned at the same time." He emphasized that Mevlana, as a projection of David (a.s.), guided even the hardest-hearted people by educating them.
The program ended after Hüseyin Fahreddin Dede's performance of the Acemaşiran Mevlevi Ceremony.
